These hot springs are absolutely gorgeous, nice depth, nice warmth and right on the edge of the Carson River. There are a couple of different pools here, both I checked out are quite nice, but the one right on the edge of the river is fantastic!
The first time I went, we drove in from the east side of the river. The road is fine, but fairly rough and I would recommend high clearance–at one point we did bottom out in our Ford Ranger–not too bad though. Also, be warned, the Carson River gets big, trucks do drive across it to get to the springs, but during high flows the river has been known to wash away trucks (see this youtube video: Truck Crossing Carson River). Don’t let this be you! You can hike in from the west side, but I think the best way to get to these springs is by raft or kayak--which we'll have to try some day.
