There is usually a huge party at the base of the Pine Forest Range at Leonard Creek Ranch to celebrate Halloween and Nevada Day. Unfortunately, this year the hosts were busy with sporting events and weren't able to throw the annual bash. However, this did not stop us from enjoying the beauty that fall and early winter bring to the area! First, we went for a hike near elephant mountain just to the west of the the Black Rock Range. It was a chilly and rainy day, but it made for a gorgeous sunset: The next day we helped around the ranch by running up into the mountains and opening some gates. We also went down to the fields and put some pipe away for the winter: It was a fun and relaxing trip! AND on our way home we swung by the Santa Rosa Mountains, which had a good amount of snow:
