Nevada State Parks: Full-moon hike at Fort Churchill State Historic Park on Saturday, May 5, 20124/25/2012 SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. – Hike through the ruins of Fort Churchill by the light of the full moon. This hike is an easy 0.6 miles, with one short hill from the museum down to the ruins. Learn the history of the Fort and explore the ruins. Discover what life was like for the soldiers stationed here. The hike is Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 8 p.m.
WHAT: Guided full-moon hike WHEN: Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. WHERE: Meet at the museum parking lot, behind the cannons. Fort Churchill is located approximately eight miles south of Silver Springs on Highway 95A. Turn onto Fort Churchill Road and follow the signs into the park. WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Fort Churchill State Historic Park. COST: This hike is included with the entry fee to the park. Entry to the park is $7 per vehicle with a $2 discount for Nevada residents. CONTACT: Kim Clawson, 775-577-4880 or 775-577-2345.
