The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) in conjunction with the Reno community radio station KXNV 89.1 FM announces the launch of a weekly, hour-long radio program designed to take an in-depth look at issues impacting wildlife. The program will also be available through podcast statewide at NevadaWild.org.
"We think this is an in important step for keeping the public informed about wildlife and outdoor issues," said Teresa Moiola, co-host of the program and chief of NDOW’s Conservation Education Division. "Nevadans really care about wildlife and outdoor recreation, and this show provides detailed information they won’t find anywhere else."
As part of the program, NDOW has launched NevadaWild.org to provide streaming and downloadable versions of the audio program as well as a blog that will also feature regular updates and information. As technology changes, natural resource managers are looking for new ways to engage a public hungry for information.
The Nevada Wild program features news, information and comprehensive interviews with NDOW staff and guests about matters related to hunting, fishing, boating, wildlife watching, species management, outdoor safety and a host of other topics.
