We started the Grand Throne Canyon Hike at the Nevada Nature Conservancy's McCarran Ranch Preservation Trail Head. The trail takes you along the Truckee River east of Reno. You'll walk past a few of the ecological sculptures that were created as part of the 2015 Nature of Art Project. Past the sculptures we headed south to the mouth of Grand Throne Canyon. There were a lot of beautiful, rocky cliffs. It was a gray, but beautiful day!

The Basin and Range Project
We love the Basin and Range region and work to promote appreciation and respect for the area. We encourage all users to learn about, play in and protect this amazing resource.
We currently focus primarily on issues in the Nevada region of the Basin and Range, but are looking to expand soon.
