The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), in conjunction with other agencies within the Department of the Interior, will waive recreation-related fees for Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area on Martin Luther King Jr.’s weekend, January 14-16.
Red Rock Canyon features a LEED Gold visitor center, a scenic drive, miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, road biking, picnic areas and nature observing opportunities. In conjunction with other agencies within the Department of the Interior, BLM will waive recreation-related fees for visitors to the National System of Public Lands on several additional days in 2012 - Get Outdoors Day (June 9), National Public Lands Day (September 29) and Veteran’s Day weekend (November 10 to 12). These fee-free days also apply to areas managed within the BLM’s National Landscape Conservation System. Other fees, such as overnight camping, cabin rentals, and group day use, will remain in effect.
