SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. – Civil War volunteers will set up an encampment on the museum lawn at Fort Churchill State Historic Park. There will be lectures on various subjects, live demonstrations and other activities. Demonstrations include live music, cannon firings, and Civil War re-enactments. Buckland Station will be open both days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHAT: Civil War Encampment WHEN: Saturday morning, May 26 through Sunday afternoon, May 27. WHERE: Meet at the museum parking lot, behind the cannons. Fort Churchill is located approximately eight miles south of Silver Springs, NV on Highway 95A. Turn onto Fort Churchill Road and follow the signs into the park. WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Fort Churchill State Historic Park. COST: This event is included with the entry fee to the park.
