There are surprises and hidden gems everywhere on our public lands. On this day, we were driving south from Oregon back to Nevada on Highway 140. We saw a rocky walled canyon to the north and decided to take a break to explore it as we drove through the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge. Walking up a wet two-track toward the canyon's mouth we rounded a bend and came across this camp, a vivid piece of history. September 30, 2017 is National Public Lands Day. To celebrate this we are going to share images of public lands from our archives every day in September. #welovepubliclands #publiclandsproud #publiclandowner #NPLD #basinandrangelandsofseptember
