The 20th California Invasive Plant Council Symposium is underway as I type. I really wanted to be there this year, but I'm hunting down noxious weeds in the Santa Rosa Mountains. The Symposium is from October 5th through the 7th in beautiful Tahoe City. The theme of this year's Symposium is Invasive Plants and Ecological Change. Speakers will address human-influenced changes to the natural environment that impact invasive plant management, including changes in soils, fire, nitrogen deposition, and, of course, climate change. Man, I wish I were there.
