Tonopah, NV -- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Battle Mountain District, Tonopah Field Office, is seeking public comments on the Environmental Assessment (EA) associated with Rockwood Lithium Inc.’s proposal to purchase and extract rip rap and clay material from existing pits near Silver Peak, NV.

The EA identifies, describes, and evaluates possible direct, indirect and cumulative impacts of extracting 20,000 cubic yards of rip rap and 20,000 cubic yards of clay material per year over a five year period.

The 30-day public comment period ends on July 5, 2014. Written comments received during this period will be considered during the decision-making process. The EA is available at http://on.doi.gov/TGzP2w. Hardcopies of the EA are available at the Tonopah Field Office, 1553 S. Main Street, Tonopah, NV.

Comments may be submitted in writing to: BLM Tonopah Field Office, Attn: William Coyle, P.O. Box 911, Tonopah, NV 89049. Comments may also be submitted by fax at (775) 482-7810 (Attn: William Coyle) or by e-mail at wcoyle@blm.gov.
