BLM Proposes Sale of Public Land for Mt. Moriah Cemetery

Tonopah, NV -- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Battle Mountain District, Tonopah Field Office is seeking public comments on a proposed sale of seven and one-half (7½) acres of public land, one-half mile west of Manhattan, Nev. The sale of this parcel, which includes the existing Mt. Moriah Cemetery, as well as an area to accommodate future expansion, is proposed to be conducted via direct sale to Nye County. Nye County has requested the land sale so that they may expand the cemetery which is currently at capacity. Comments on the proposed sale will be accepted during a 45-day comment period ending July 7, 2014.

Comments may be submitted in writing to: BLM Tonopah Field Office, Attn: Timothy J. Coward, P.O. Box 911, Tonopah, NV 89049. Comments may also be submitted by fax at 775- 482-7810 or by e-mail at tcoward@blm.gov.

A Notice of Realty Action for the proposed sale was published in the Federal Register on May 20, 2014.
