The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Red Rock/Sloan Field Office will host an open house on March 15 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Visitor Center. Presentations will be given at 2 and 6 p.m.Various staff members will provide brief project updates including:
  • City of Henderson McCullough Hills Trail
  • plans to install mile markers on trails in Sloan Canyon and other trails in the Las Vegas Valley to promote walking/hiking as a way to better health
  • trail construction in the National Conservation Area
  • environmental education programs, public awareness events and volunteer opportunities
This open house is part of a series the third Thursday of each month to give the public an opportunity to meet BLM staff, get information about projects and planning, and ask questions about the management of Red Rock and Sloan Canyon National Conservation Areas and Walking Box Ranch.

When participants enter the fee booth at the entrance of the 13-Mile Scenic Drive, they should tell the attendant that they are participating in the open house and fees will be waived.
