Over the last several months, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has seen an increase of reported unlawful killings of federally protected wild horses and burros. There are four specific incidents documented by BLM law enforcement. The BLM is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for these violations of the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971.

Individuals with information about these incidents are encouraged to call the BLM Crime Hotline phone number at: 1-800-521-6501. Persons providing information may choose to remain anonymous.
The BLM currently manages more than 37,000 wild horses and burros on public rangelands in 10 Western states.
