The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca District, Humboldt River Field Office has issued a Decision Record (DR) selecting implementation of the Shamrock Communications Inc. Rights-of-Way (ROW) Project with special stipulations. The ROW grants to Shamrock are imminent and will complete approval of the project. The Shamrock Communications ROW Project is a 1,469 foot tower with a beacon which includes a transmitter building, an electrical distribution line, and road access. The project involves 67 acres of public lands located about 22 miles northeast of Fernley, Nev., in the Jessup area north of Interstate 80, in Churchill County. Shamrock recently purchased several radio licenses allowing it to serve portions of several northern Nevada counties. The service area covers a 75-mile radius from the site, reaching portions of Churchill, Lyon, Pershing, Humboldt, and Washoe counties. The environmental assessment, the DR, and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are available on the BLM Winnemucca website at: http://www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/wfo.html. Copies of the documents are also available at the Winnemucca District Office at 5100 E.
